Hot Start Too Much for Aggies in Loss to Seattle U

SEATTLE, wash. – NM State (4-10-1) women’s football team failed to return from an early two-goal deficit in a 3-0 loss to Seattle U (9-4-2) at Championship Field in Seattle Thursday night. To wash.

The Redhawks started quickly with two goals in the first 15 minutes to give them the early lead. After some good scoring chances were scored in the first 10 minutes, the aggie offensive slowed down and only four shots were fired in the game. The Aggie defense narrowly held the game, but the Redhawks scored the knockout blow with a goal in the 76th minute.

Megan Ormson and Jocelyn Tallent-Burleson recorded the only shots on goal for the Aggies. Makenna Gottschalk scored five saves to bring her season to 59.

The two teams will be back in action against the Redhawks on Saturday. The starting signal will be given at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the WAC Digital Network.
