Harvey Everett Obituary (2022) – Plains Twp., PA

Harvey W. Everett, Jr., 56, of the Hudson section of Plains Twp., passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, Aug. 7, 2022.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Harvey W. Sr. and Mary Ellen Thomas Everett.

Harvey attended James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was an Army veteran, serving in Germany from 1984 until his honorable discharge in 1987. It was during this time that Harvey met his future wife, Angelika. Upon returning to the United States, Harvey and Angelika settled in the Hudson section of Plains Twp. and he was employed by the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, and was the Postmaster of Clarks Summit.

Harvey enjoyed fishing, buying and fixing houses and spending time at the casino with his wife. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Xander.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Doug and Mary Roth Thomas Sr., he was preceded in death by his son, Alexander Everett, on April 11, 2015.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years, the former Angelika Grunkel, Hudson; sons, Harvey W. Everett III and Caden Givens, both at home; grandson, Xander Everett; brother, Mark Everett and his wife, Denise, Hanover Twp.; sister, Lisa Parcinski, Wilkes-Barre; mother-in-law, Eleanor Grunkel, Arberg, Germany; sister-in-law, Caroline Sell, Wisconsin; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Harvey will be held at 10 am Thursday from Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Twp., with Deacon Donald Crane officiating. Interment with military honors accorded by the United States Army and the Plains American Legion, Post 558, Funeral Honors Detail, will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
