Gregg “Doc” W Johnson: 1957-2022

Gregg “Doc” W. Johnson, a lifelong resident of Chehalis, died on January 4, 2022 in Vancouver, Washington.

Gregg was born on March 30, 1957 in Chehalis, Washington to Warren Johnson and Christle (DeBow) Scheuber.

Doc graduated from WF West High School in 1975, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Kathy (Keep) Johnson, on January 8, 1977. They married just four days ago 45 years ago. Gregg was a kind, loyal, and loving man.

He was a hard worker, starting with a newspaper route for The Chronicle and as a boxboy for Fullers at a young age. He worked for Lewis County Carpool from 1974 to 1979 and then joined the Lewis County Road Department in 1979. Gregg worked his way up to Area 1 supervisor and retired in 2007 after 33 years.

He attended Centralia College for welding. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1550 and a lifetime member of the NRA.

Doc loved hunting, fishing and car shows. Camping with his four grandchildren, traveling with his wife and spending time with his family are his greatest joys.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Keep) Johnson; daughters Kaelene Johnson, Danielle (Johnson) and Jason Dahlin, Darcy (Johnson) and Steve Pallas; grandchildren Ashleigh (Johnson) and Josh Johnson, Colton Pruitt, Morgan Heck and Logan Rollins; and great-granddaughter Dawsey Johnson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1550 at 1993 S. Market Blvd., Chehalis, Washington on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
