Gloria Jean Ball, 79, Aberdeen resident and homemaker, passed away Friday, Sept 9, 2022, at her home in Aberdeen.

Gloria Jean Ball, 79, Aberdeen resident and homemaker, passed away Friday, Sept 9, 2022, at her home in Aberdeen.

Gloria was born on June 6, 1943, in Alberta, Canada to Jo Russell and Phyllis (Cholach) Sanders. They moved to Vancouver, Washington when Gloria was young, where she attended the Washington State School for the Deaf, and she later graduated in 1963. She met her school sweetheart Kenneth Kellogg. They married and built their family with a son and a daughter, Ken and Brenda.

Throughout their marriage they lived between Vancouver and Aberdeen, and they settled in West Aberdeen in the ’70s. Later, unfortunately, Gloria and Kenneth divorced, but friends still remained.

On April 19, 1994, Gloria married Theodore Gabriel ‘Ted’ Ball in Reno, Nevada. They lived in Aberdeen and often spent their summers in Bend, Oregon. Ted passed away on Nov. 11, 2009, in Aberdeen.

Gloria stayed at her home in Aberdeen.

Gloria had a huge smile, and she was always friendly. She loved to crochet and knit and sew,. She loved gardening and laying out by the pool soaking up the sun. She loved to travel! Cruising in the Caribbean Sea was her favorite. She and her daughter Brenda cruised with several deaf groups. She loved to get dressed up in her “Bling” jeans and go dancing. At any family gathering, she would take your picture. She loved her grandchildren and especially the great grandkids!

Gloria is survived by a son Kenneth (Tami) Kellogg of McCleary, Washington and a daughter, Brenda (Kelly) House of Elma, Washington; two grandchildren Aaron Gallington of Port Orchard, Washington and Ashley Gallington-Gonzales of Shelton, Washington; numerous great-grandchildren from both sides of the family, sisters Linda Brown of Sequim, Washington and Lasha Steinweg of Olympia, Washington.

There will be a celebration of life for Gloria on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 3 pm at the Aberdeen 40 and 8 Club.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
