Geon Performance Solutions names Wendy Herbst as chief commercial officer

Westlake-based polymer producer Geon Performance Solutions has a new chief commercial officer.

The company on Tuesday, Jan. 3, announced it has named Wendy Herbst to the role.

Herbst succeeds senior vice president and chief commercial officer Larry Shaw, who will retire from Geon this year. The company said in a news release that Shaw “played an instrumental leadership role in 2019 to transition Geon from PolyOne to the current stand-alone company.”

Geon’s release noted that Herbst “brings more than 15 years of expertise to Geon in multimillion-dollar P&L management, leading private equity business strategies and directing global cross-functional teams.”

She most recently was vice president and general manager of consumer specialties at Emerald Performance Materials in Vancouver, Washington. Prior to that, Herbst was business segment manager and pricing process leader at Arizona Chemical, based in Florida.

Geon CEO Tracy Garrison said in a statement that Herbst “will continue to build upon our growth strategies by leveraging her expertise in sales, marketing strategy and business development.”

Herbst has an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin.

Geon has about 1,100 employees and operates 12 manufacturing plants worldwide. It’s a portfolio company of SK Capital Partners.
