Fredrick Polello Obituary (1934 – 2022) – Spokane, WA

Frederick, Fred, Freddy, dad, papa was born on March 8, 1934 in Spokane, WA to Fred & Leonore Polello. He was the oldest of five children, three brothers, James, Gene, David and sister Karen. He lived most of childhood on Mt Spokane and graduated from Mead High School. After high school he went into the Navy from 1953-1957 and was captain of the gunnery division. When he was discharged from th thierr e Navy, he worked at the Kaiser Aluminum Mead plant until he retired. He would become a beloved Forman by his coworkers, and had the difficult task of starting the pot lines. Even after retired he was called back out of retirement several times to help out by lending his vast knowledge of the system. By a previous marriage he had three beloved children that were the loves of his life, Laura Lacroix, Steve Polello and Sharon Damm. He had a special bond with his mom and grandmother that was very meaningful to him.
Growing up on Mt. Spokane, and his dad the Park Ranger he became involved with the Spokane Ski Club and ski jumping. He would frequently ski back home from the top of the mountain down through the woods. Being Italian one of his favorite hobbies was eating good food with his friend David, and becoming a favorite customer at multiple restaurants. Staff would love to see him coming as he took a personal interest in all of them. He was a very kind soul never heard angry word out of him. His pride in life was his three children, and multiple grand and great grand kids, and much of life revolved around them. Family was a high priority in his life. He also loved his small lap dogs, that were always perched on his lap.
He is survived by his children Laura Lacroix & spouse Chris, Steve Polello & Marlana Longoria, Sharon Damm & spouse Gary, brother, Gene Polello, sister, Karen Frogner and lifelong friend David Lanny Lewis. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Leonore Polello, and his brothers James & David Polello.
A memorial service in Frederick’s honor will be held at Heritage funeral home on 508 N Government way, Spokane WA 99224 on June 30th at 11:00 AM. Frederick’s final resting place will be at the Washington State Veteran’s Cemetery in Medical Lake.
