FLOOD ALERT – NORTH SOUND – Everett Post

Here we go again. Another atmospheric river is upon us and giving us tons of rainfall. For the moment Stevens Pass is open with snow turning to rain and back to snow again by Thursday. This creates melting for the rivers added to the large amount of rain in the lowlands. Expect flood conditions for the next few days in Snohomish and Skagit Counties. Since we’ve been to this rodeo before, we all not what to do. Make sure you have water, candles, batteries, flashlights and an emergency radio. Check often on current conditions and do not venture out unless absolutely necessary. Stay warm, take care of the pets and know this is passing quickly.

This is a good time to remind those already impacted by our historic flooding in November and December, that FEMA disaster assistance is available. The deadline for applying for those damages is March 7, 2022. If you suffered damage, apply for this help quickly before the window closes.
