EVERETT – A fire destroyed Love Inc.’s search and search store in Everett on Wednesday.

Dispatchers received the call at 1:10 p.m., which resulted in a response from Raystown Ambulance and nine fire service companies, including Martinsburg Volunteer

Fire Department.

According to Everett Fire Chief Jim Stone, the building is likely “Totalized” although no one was injured in the flame.

Stone added that the cause of the fire remains unclear while the firefighter investigates. The firefighter declined to comment.

Bev Patten, executive director of Love Inc., said she wasn’t sure what the next steps would be to recover from the loss, but she expected broad community support.

“I’m just looking at our community” She said. “You are very generous and I am sure you will help us with our plan.”

The store next to Love Inc.’s main building sold donated items such as clothing and furniture. The proceeds went to needy locals.

Ginger Morgret, the general manager, echoed Paten’s assessment of the community, saying the people of Everett would be there to support the ministry amid the loss.

“I have no doubt that they will” She said of the community banding together in support. “All of Love Inc. is blessed by God. All we have is a blessing from God and I have no doubt that (the building) will return bigger and better and be more of a blessing to the community than it was before. “

Morgret also spoke about the presence of the business in the community.

“I think it’s an important part of the community” She said. “I was just talking to an elderly lady who stopped by the store every day and said, ‘It’s like my second home. ‘She’s really upset. “
