Fire damaged the house in north Spokane on Friday evening

SPOKANE, Washington – A fire on Friday damaged a house in northern Spokane, leaving people in makeshift shelters.

On Friday evening around 10:44 p.m., the Spokane Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 6000 block of the North Royal Dr.

According to the Spokane fire, an outside fire had spread to the house and spread to the attic.

The people living in it were evacuated and given medical care. No injuries were reported.

The Greater Inland Northwest Red Cross helped people find temporary shelter. Despite the damage from the fire, Spokane Fire saved countless possessions and most of the home, which is likely to be renovated.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
