Everett woman, 20, charged after allegedly stabbing roommate

EVERETT – In the days following her arrest, a 20-year-old woman accused of stabbing her roommate reportedly posted a song called “Shank Ya” on one of her social media accounts.

His texts are about “shanking enemies,” according to court documents.

She was charged with first degree assault after allegedly stabbing her roommate seven times and nearly killing her.

Two of the blows pierced the woman’s heart and one of her lungs. Emergency surgery saved her life as indicted in the Snohomish County Supreme Court.

The two met in middle school before they were teenagers, prosecutors wrote. They moved together to an apartment on East Marine View Drive in Everett in November.

One night at the end of January, the stabbed woman is said to have had a party in the apartment. Her roommate had to work the next morning.

At first she stayed in her room, but eventually she confronted the other woman with the noise. They started yelling at each other.

She went back to her room and grabbed a bag to go. She reportedly grabbed a Leatherman multitool with a 2¾-inch blade.

She later told detectives it was to protect against the other woman. She also said the woman never threatened her but was unable to defend herself on her own.

“I can’t fight,” she allegedly told a police officer. “I’m literally a little b – so I had to be able to stop her.”

The suspect is described in official documents as 5 feet tall and 97 pounds. Her roommate is only about 13 pounds heavier, according to court records.

As soon as the suspect had the knife, she left her room. Her roommate was in the hall and is said to have pushed her, slapped her in the face and grabbed her hair.

It was around this time that the suspect stabbed the other woman, prosecutors claim.

She remembered punching the woman three times, under her chest and in the side.

“I really blacked it out,” the suspect told a detective.

Just after midnight on January 20, a woman called 911 at the party.

“Ma’am, there is a lot of blood and I’m a little worried,” she told the dispatcher.

She started sobbing while on the line and said the injured woman was “super in and out,” according to court records.

“Go faster, ma’am … I’m starting – I’m dying,” the victim is said to have said on the phone. “My ribs feel so tight … I’m about to die ma’am. Please help me! Fast fast!”

Everett police and other first responders arrived soon after. The final words on the 911 audio recording were from an officer who said, “You are not going to die, we are here to help you”.

The woman was taken to Everett Providence Regional Medical Center for emergency surgery.

She lost nearly half a gallon of blood, records show.

She left the hospital five days after being admitted, but is still recovering for a long time, prosecutors wrote.

The suspect was arrested on the day of the knife stab. She left bail later that evening. It was set at $ 25,000.

As soon as she was gone, she started posting on social media. She shared another song titled “(187) KILL-A-BITCH” about “shooting people and putting them in a ditch,” according to court records.

“The defendant’s posts show a lack of remorse and cheerful behavior in relation to the stabbing of the victim,” the prosecutor wrote. “The defendants’ posts also reflect that she has no problem with violent encounters with her ‘enemies’.”

The woman’s indictment is scheduled for later this month. She has no other crime story.
