Everett Short Obituary (1940 – 2021) – Archbold, OH

Everett L. “Shorty” Short, 80, of Pettisville died Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Bryan Community Hospital & Wellness Center. He was born on September 28, 1940 in Wauseon to the late Harold and Grace (Frey) Short. On February 18, 1978, he married Bonnie Lake, his wife for 43 years, and she survived.

He lived in the Pettisville area his entire life and was a diesel mechanic at Frey & Sons in Archbold for 40 years. He served in the 1W Alternate Service in Evanston, Illinois. Everett enjoyed mushroom picking, building and racing remote-controlled boats, gardening, and hanging out with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Zion Mennonite Church in Archbold.

He also leaves three children, Lori (Ryan) Keim of Pettisville, Edward (Ann Marie) Short of South Bend, Ind., And Rebecca (Gerald) Walbeck of Goshen, Ind .; seven grandchildren, Caleb, Nathaniel, Ava, Myla, Coraline, Willow, and Imogen; two brothers, Merrill Short of Archbold and Arnie Short of Wauseon; four sisters, Geraldine (Jerry) Cooper from Littleton, Colorado, Ernestine (Keith) Lehman from Lititz, Pennsylvania, Brenda (Albert) Shelby from Atlanta, Georgia, and Roslyn Short from Aurora, Colorado.

A service to celebrate life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Zion Mennonite Church, with Pastors Corben Weaver Boshart and Sue Short officiating. The private burial takes place in the Pettisville cemetery.

Friends can call church on Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Short Funeral Home in Archbold was entrusted with the arrangements.

The family suggests giving monuments to the Cherry Street Mission or the Zion Youth Community.

The family calls for masks to be worn and for social distancing guidelines to be followed.
