Everett senior hospitalized after trailer rolls on I-82

YAKIMA, Washington – A 72-year-old Everett man was injured after his 10-meter trailer rolled into the median of I-82 in Yakima County on Thursday afternoon.

The man was driving his 2012 Dodge RAM 1500 east on I-82 into Yakima County, according to a Washington State Patrol (WSP) press release. He pulled a 30-foot Lance trailer behind his vehicle while driving. At the time of the incident, the man was about six kilometers northeast of Selah, Washington.

An investigation by the WSP Troopers revealed that the man hit a concrete bridge abutment in the pavement, causing his trailer to roll into the median of the pavement.

Authorities say the Everett man was injured in the accident and was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment for his injuries. No further information was released about his condition.

However, the man was charged with unsafe use of the left lane, which he believed was the cause of the accident. WSP Troopers confirmed that drug and / or alcohol impairment was not a factor in the accident.
