Everett Ross’ New Look For Black Panther 2, Nia DaCosta Pitched An X-Men Movie & More

“Wonder Woman 1984” director Patty Jenkins recently appeared at CinemaCon and discussed the experimental release of the film on HBO Max while it was also in theaters. Although Jenkins admitted (via Deadline), “It was the best choice out of a series of bad decisions right now,” she also called it a “heartbreaking experience” that ultimately turned out to be “detrimental to the movie”.

While some might say that an exclusive theatrical release under the best of conditions would not have helped the disappointing reception of Wonder Woman 1984, it must be difficult as a filmmaker to give in to such a release strategy. But again, as Jenkins says, it was the best choice given the circumstances, and every single option that came before them would not have produced better results.
