Everett Eugene ‘Gene’ King | Obituaries

NUTTER FORT, W.Va. (WV News) – Everett Eugene “Gene” King, 84, of Clarksburg, died at his residence on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

He was born on October 29, 1936 in Clarksburg to the late Archie and Virginia Lynch King.

He leaves behind his wife, Betty Clifton King.

Additionally, three daughters, Lorraine King Hall of Newport News, VA, Susan King of Port Richey, FL, and Siobhan King of Lafayette, CO, survive.

He was also preceded by a sister, Bernice McHenry, in death.

Mr. King was a graduate of Washington Irving High School. He owned and operated the Kings Service Station in Wilsonburg for many years, then worked for Stone & Thomas and retired from Elder-Beerman as a sales representative.

Mr. King was a Boy Scout Leader and former district governor and member of the Wilsonburg Lions Club. He was an avid gardener, traveler, and active member of the United Methodist Temple.

At his request, Mr. King is cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 6 p.m. at the United Methodist Temple, chaired by Reverend Michael Burge.
