Everett Collier, 84, husband of Emma Marie Collier, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022 at his home in Georgetown. He was born on November 10, 1938 in Laurel County, Kentucky to the late Thurston and Gracie Philpot Collier. Everett proudly served his country for 22 years in the United States Navy. He worked as a civilian rigger foreman at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for 16 years. He later worked for Schneider Trucking as a dedicated driver for a Walmart Distribution Center. He was a Mason, Shriner, member of the American Legion, Fleet Reserve Association, Kentucky Colonel, member of the Game Wardens Association River Rat Patrol of the Vietnam Conflict. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, Elmo Collier, Ellis Collier, Elva Garland, Ethel Vandy, and Estill Collier.
Everett will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Emma Marie Marles Collier, children, Melinda Jo Minter, Summerville, Ohio, Malcom Scott Collier, Summerville, Ohio, Michael Thurston Collier, Georgetown, Rebecca Louise (Tony) Coogle, Georgetown, grandchildren, Clint Minter, Krista Stephens, Keli Gross, Cassie Minter, Michael Ryan Collier, Ashley Collier Smart, James Coogle, Zachary Coogle, 10 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home with Minister Randy Fugate officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville with full Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Michael Collier, William Carpenter, Todd Wyatt, Martin Garland, Terry Sizemore, and Marvin Helton. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Coogle, Scott Collier, JT Coogle, Zac Coogle.
