The Everett Animal Shelter announced a $ 30,000 investment from the newly named Petco Love to support their lifesaving work for animals in Everett and the surrounding communities.

Petco Love is a nonprofit, leading pet change nationally, harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since their founding in 1999 as the Petco Foundation, they have supported organizations with nearly $ 300 million invested in adoption and other life-saving efforts. Working with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations like Everett Animal Shelter across the country, they have helped find loving homes for more than 6.5 million pets.

“Today Petco Love announced an investment in the Everett Animal Shelter and hundreds of other organizations to create a future where no pets need to be euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only one component. This month we’ll also be rolling out the first of our national tools, empowering all animal lovers to drive life-saving change right next to us. “

“The staff and volunteers at Everett Animal Shelter are excited to support Petco Love,” said Glynis Frederiksen, manager of Everett Animal Shelter. “We are very grateful and honored to have been selected to receive this generous grant. Together we will improve the lives of many pets in need. “

Every year, the Everett Animal Shelter takes care of thousands of cats, dogs, small animals, and birds in frequent need of medical care or rehabilitation. The Petco Love Scholarship provides animal shelter with veterinary care, including specialty surgery, x-rays, and other life-saving treatments.
