Thank you, Mr Howard

First some history. I grew up in Rigby and became indoctrinated into reading “The Star” because my mother waited anxiously for her newspaper every week and then devoured it page by page. I had to wait for my turn and then devour the star on my own.

I haven’t lived in Rigby since graduating from RHS in 1963. However, I still say it is my home and try to visit when I can.

My mom now lives in Vancouver, Washington with my sister, and yes, at age 98, she still subscribes to her star and reads it cover to cover on the day he arrived. Every time I visit, it is important to me to devour the star again.

Now my real reason to write. From time to time I have had the opportunity to read Mr. Daris Howard’s mind. The most recent is the story of the girl, the harp and the green color. What a great story. I felt I was sitting right next to Daris on the wall so as not to intrude into the harpist’s show and performance, I have read other writings by Mr. Howards and have enjoyed each one. Daris, don’t stop writing because my mother sends me your stories.

Sincerely, Clair R. Palmer
