Detectives Investigating After Pedestrian Killed On Everett Avenue Friday Night

Everett Avenue west of Rainier was closed while detectives were investigating the crash.

Everett Police Department traffic safety detectives were called on to investigate the death of a pedestrian after being hit by a vehicle in Block 2200 on Everett Avenue.

At around 5:30 p.m. Friday night, Snohomish received 911 reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Everett Avenue near the intersection with Rainier. Paramedics were called and attempted life-saving measures, but these were unsuccessful.

The person who died was a grown man crossing the street. Lt. Everett Police’s Robert Goetz tells MyEverettNews.com that the detectives are just beginning their investigation and that Everett Avenue is closed between Rainier and Broadway.

The driver of the vehicle is working with detectives, and Goetz said there didn’t appear to be any signs of impairment or reckless driving, but the investigation is ongoing.

The Snohomish County Coroner will determine the cause and type of death and reveal the victim’s identity.
