Cougars Wrap up Road Trip Tonight in Everett

Tonight, at the Angel of the Winds Arena, the Prince George Cougars wrap up their brief two game road trip against the Everett Silvertips at 6:05 PM. Prince George is coming off a 4-3 shootout victory last night against the Vancouver Giants at the Langley Events Centre. Chase Wheatcroft, Koehn Ziemmer, and Riley Heidt had the goals for Prince George, while Ondrej Becher and Carter MacAdams found the back of the net in the shootout. Tyler Brennan got the win in between the pipes, making 29 saves in his first start of the regular season.

CHASE WHEATCROFT

It has been a terrific opening five games for Cougar 20-year-old Chase Wheatcroft. Wheatcroft, from Calgary AB, has goals in back-to-back games which includes a highlight reel goal scored last night against Vancouver. Wheatcroft now has five points in five games thus far in the 2022-23 regular season (2-3-5).

HUDSON THORNTON

Returning defender Hudson Thornton enters tonight’s game against the Silvertips, with six points in five games, which is tied for the most out of all defensemen in the entire Western Hockey League. Thornton has collected a pair of goals and four assists in his teams’ first five contests.

JACKSON BEREZOWSKI

Silvertips forward Jackson Berezowski has been a scoring machine in his teams’ opening four games. The 20-year-old out of Yorkton, SK has tallied four times in four games thus far for Everett heading into tonight’s contest against the Cougars. Berezowski has been his whole WHL career with the Silvertips and has played over 210 games in the league (215).

IN THE PIPES

19 year old netminder Braden Holt is coming off a terrific 2021-22 season. Holt, from Bozeman, MT, finished last year with a 24-6-2-2 record, and sported a 2.56 goals against average along with a .909 save percentage. Holt has appeared in four games for the Silvertips this season and is 3-0.
