Community Blood Center to sponsor ‘Donate Life Rose Parade’ float ahead Rose Bowl game

The Community Blood Center-Community Tissue Service will be sponsoring a “Donate Life Rose Parade” float for the Rose Parade leading up to the Rose Bowl game Sunday.

The Donate Life float was made to be part of a national campaign that shares the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation, according to a press release from CBC.

“By sharing the stories of our participant and others who have been touched by donation, we hope to inspire many more to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors, and help save and heal the lives of more than 100,000 people in the US who are currently waiting for a lifesaving transplant,” said CBC-CTS Executive Vice President Christopher Graham.

This year’s float honoree will be Hayden Schiller, a leukemia survivor and tissue recipient from Vancouver, Washington.

In the release, the centerpiece of the float is described as an Asian street dragon. The dragon will be wounded through flowering trees, lanterns, and fans.
