Clark County restaurants and non-profit organizations benefit from Savor the Couve

“We were thrilled to say yes,” said Christy Bork, national program manager at Pet Peace of Mind. “It’s a great event to support local restaurants and it’s also really nice that they’ve thought of charitable organizations as well.”

Pet Peace of Mind is a nationwide non-profit based in Salem with two partners in Vancouver, Community Home Health and Hospice and Peace Health Hospice. The organization works with hospices and home care facilities to provide animal care assistance to patients who are no longer able to care for their pets. And when the patient dies without family members being able to take in the pet, the organization helps find a new home for it.

Pet Peace of Mind has been in operation for 13 years and relies on individual donations to keep going.

“That’s why events like this are very special for us,” adds Bork.

And for the restaurants that have chosen to participate, the opportunity Savor the Couve offers to bring their name and their food to new customers is not lost.

“This gives us the opportunity to feed 300 people. And that’s 300 people trying our food that weren’t there before. It means that. It’s incredible,” said David White, co-owner of Hidden House Market, 100 West 13th St., Vancouver, in a press statement.
