Charlene PROVINCE/HAUTALA Obituary (2022) – Spokane, WA

Longtime resident Char has passed away in Spokane Valley with her loving family by her side. She is in the arms of Jesus, her family, and her best friends.

After school, Char trained horses and worked for the St. Mary Idaho Forest Service which was a perfect fit as she enjoyed the outdoors. When she left the Forest Service, Char worked at the Spokane Stockyards until 2000. Following this Char and her daughter Theresa worked for multiple families training horses.

Char was well known in the horse world traveling to many horse shows. She had such a love for horses and all animals. You would always see Char at the barn with a smile on her face and open arms.

The apple of Char’s eye was her chihuahua Teka. Teka was by her side and was very protective of Char. Char loved being around her family and friends. You never wanted to mess with Char as she always had the upper hand, however, would give the shirt off her back for her family and friends and go to any length to protect them.

Char will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded to death by her parents. Char is survived by her daughter Theresa and dear friend Bill of 47 years, as well as many other friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Char.
