Chadwick Boseman honored by wife during Stand Up to Cancer telecast – Everett Post

Simone Boseman paid musical tribute to her late husband, the actor Chadwick Boseman, during the television show Stand Up to Cancer on Saturday night.

actor Anthony Anderson Introduced the Black Panther star’s widow, saying, “Many of us were devastated to learn of Chadwick Boseman’s tragic death after several years of privately battling cancer.”

“The world has lost an incredible artist and a true hero,” he continued. “But before he was a public figure, he was someone like you or me – a son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, colleague, husband.”

The blackened star remarked, “Many of us are all too familiar with the rupture that the death of a loved one can make in the lives of those who love them. Chadwick’s wife Simone is here to sing a song about living with the reality of loss and finding a way forward.

Simone then delivered an emotional rendition of “I’ll Be Seeing You”, the 1938 classic by Sammy Fain and Irving Kahal and recorded by Billie vacation, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, among other.

A number of celebrities also attended the SU2C event – including Chadwick’s Marvel co-stars Gurira. call, Chris Evans, Karen Gillan and Paul Rudd.

Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth were among the hosts and executive producers of this year’s event, which raises funds for cancer research programs.
