Capturing the Beauty of Motherhood with Mintz Portrait Studio’s Tribute to Motherhood Project
Showcasing a photography study of 75 families in black and white, the Tribute to Motherhood Project will now be available as a book.
More than just a photo, portraits are one of the very few investments in life that will become priceless over time. Surrounded by loved ones, family portraits, in particular, will be hung in one’s home and become treasured keepsakes. This new perspective on portraits is what inspired Vancouver, Washington photographer Connie Mintz, owner of Mintz Portrait Studio, to publish a book for Mother’s Day that features a photography study of 75 families in black and white.
Launched in February 2020, the Tribute to Motherhood Project was inspired by a black and white portrait of Connie and her son, when he was just a few months old. Upon having this special moment captured, she wondered how she could do the same for her fellow mothers who want something timeless to share with their children and treasure forever.
“A family portrait is a daily reminder to your children of how much they are loved,” says Connie. And this, in fact, took a much deeper meaning after the loss of her own mother. This was when Connie realized that family portraits aren’t just about oneself. They are about family legacy and love, which can be passed on and enjoyed by one’s children, their children, and future generations to come.
