Cal Raleigh of Seattle Mariners to hold clinic in Broome County

A budding Major League Baseball star will pay Broome County a visit to conduct two days’ worth of mid-December clinics.

Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners, who led MLB catchers with 27 home runs in 2022, will share his experiences and expertise Dec. 17 and 18 at Raleigh Baseball Institute, the Endwell facility operated by his uncle, Matt Raleigh.

Cal, the Mariners’ third-round selection in the 2018 draft, at age 25 was a finalist for the Silver Slugger Award and a Gold Glove finalist. It was his two-out, full-count, ninth-inning home run that wrapped up a 2-1 win against Oakland to lock up the Mariners’ first postseason berth since 2001.
