Burns & McDonnell handles engineering, procurement and construction for Bonneville Power Administration

Burns & McDonnell, ranked 6th in the Top 100 Design-Build Companies by Engineering News-Record (ENR), was selected by the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) to provide full service solutions for engineering, architecture, environment, permits and Providing construction for a variety of energy projects in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Burn & McDonnell will also provide program management services under a five year engineering procurement construct (EPC) contract.

The work will assist the utility in providing safe, reliable and sustainable energy for its customers and the community through the collection of energy projects that BPA has planned over the next five years. Projects the company will support in collaboration with sub-advisory electrical engineering company MYR Group include greenfield substations, site expansions, transmission lines, and brownfield substations with multiple failures.

As part of providing program management services and supporting technical endeavors, Burns & McDonnell will coordinate project planning, design and construction services in all phases of energy projects. The five-year contract was awarded in December 2020, with projects running concurrently until expected completion in 2025.
