Boys Basketball: Mount Everett overcomes Heath, Lee at home | Local Sports

SHEFFIELD – The Mount Everett boys got together at the right time and overcame another high-profile effort from Evan Heath to beat Lee at home on Friday night.

A big third quarter was the difference in the Eagles’ 54:46 win. Cooper Rothvoss tossed home a 3-pointer and had eight of his 12 points in a third quarter in which Mount Everett earned 21 points. That made a five point lead at halftime into a 47:35 advantage.

Despite five 3-pointers and 26 points from Heath, the Wildcats couldn’t come back. Heath had seven of Lee’s eleven points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough.

The Eagles (4-12) received 15 points from Jack Carpenter and 13 from Michael Ullrich.

Lee (2-7) pushed Mount Everett 16 times, while the visitors themselves only tried four.

Tim Besaw connected three times from outside the arch, collecting 11 points for the Wildcats.
