Big third inning powers Everett to 9-4 win over Southern Fulton – THE SPORTS PAGE

SoFo Indians (14-5, 13-3) out-hit Everett eight to five, but it wasn’t enough in a 9-4 loss on Wednesday evening at Southern.

Everett got things started in the first inning. Syd Grove’s sac fly and an Indians error scored two runs for Everett.

In the bottom of the first inning, SoFo Indians tied things up at two. An error and an rbi single by Trayton Younker scored two runs for the Indians.

Everett pulled away for good with six runs in the third inning, aided by two hits, 3 walks and 2 Indian errors.

Calvin Isminger earned the victory on the mound for Everett. The bulldog lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out seven. Carson Reffner threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Konner Pittman took the loss for SoFo Indians. The righty went two and two-thirds innings, allowing eight unearned runs on two hits and striking out one. Jett Burger followed Pittman and threw a stellar 4 and one third innings of 3 hit baseball. The only run he surrendered was a solo HR to Isminger.

Trayton Younker went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead SoFo Indians in hits.

The Indians close their regular season tomorrow at 3:45pm tomorrow in Meyersdale.
