‘Best Dad:’ Body of man missing from North Las Vegas found

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Kimberly Breeze says she had the best Dad.

“He never missed an event with us kids,” Breeze said Wednesday, recalling her father, Clark Hall, of North Las Vegas. “He taught us how to swim. He was involved in everything we did growing up.

“And when we had kids, he was Pappa to them, in the swimming pool, teaching them… He was the most loving, caring person you ever met.”

The body of Hall, 77, who since June had been missing from his home on Autumn Damask Street, near North Pecos and East Tropical, was found Aug. 24 by Red Rock Search & Rescue, family said Wednesday.

Zelma Hall, his wife of 43 years, said her husband went out for a walk at about 6 pm Saturday, June 18, and never returned. Clark Hall recently had a stroke and was being treated for prostate cancer, she said.

“He had a bad day, and he was going to go for a walk, which was not unusual,” she said.

Rescue personnel found Hall’s body in an area of the Sheep Mountain Range, about 8 miles from his home. “I still cannot believe today that he walked 8 miles all by himself,” his wife said. She said her husband probably died of dehydration or another stroke 24 to 48 hours after he went missing.

Zelma Hall and her daughter wanted to thank all the “wonderful people” who helped in the search. A story “may be a way to reach them and thank them for all they did,” Zelma Hall said.

Clark Hall and his wife had lived in North Las Vegas since 2013, moving to the Las Vegas valley after his retirement, Zelma Hall said. They lived in the San Diego area for 33 years, and he worked in sales for a grocery distribution company, she said.

After coming to the valley, he spent time as a volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital North Las Vegas, on North Pecos Road, just 2 miles from his home.

When North Las Vegas police issued a missing persons report just a couple of days after Hall went missing, they went to the hospital first because they though he might be there, daughter Kimberly, of Salt Lake City, said.

Breeze said her family — the Hall’s also have a daughter in Vancouver, Washington, and two sons, one in Palm Desert, California, and another in Tacoma, Washington — are having a tough time.

“It’s very hard for my family to understand how my Dad, in his condition, go up that far,” she said.

The family will hold a celebration of life Oct. 8 at Lake Memories, at an event venue in Desert Shores.
