Bedford, Everett boys pick up wins | Local

DAVIDSVILLE — Bedford’s Owen Schrock recorded a hat trick in the second half to push the Bisons past Conemaugh Township, 5-2, Thursday.

“The guys worked extremely hard today and moved the ball around with a lot of precision,” said Bedford coach Barrett Schrock. “It was good to see our chemistry starting to come together. They all had a great game.”

Cole Taylor scored the two goals in the first half.

Chase Bussard, Colin Gable, and Owen Schrum had assists.

Bedford, 1-1, hosts Forest Hills on Tuesday.

EVERETT — The Everett boys’ soccer team topped Mount Union, 12-0, Thursday.

Elijah Mills recorded a hat trick in the victory. Maylin Gunby and Jesse Moore scored twice, while Parker Ramsey, Nick Hartman, Silas Schoffstall, Macyn Klotz, and Gavin Snyder also added scores.

Mount Union did not record a shot on goal.

Everett, 2-0, visits Southern Fulton on Saturday.

WATERFALL — The Chestnut Ridge boys’ soccer team fell in the second overtime to Forbes Road, 4-3, Thursday.

Nicholas Rizzo and Preston Pittman both scored for the Lions. The Lions tied the game in the second half on an own goal by the Cardinals.

Arrik Gelvin scored the golden goal in the second overtime for the Cardinals. He had a hat trick for the hosts.

Chestnut Ridge, 0-2, hosts Westmont Hilltop on Tuesday.

HOUTZDALE — Northern Bedford used 6 goals by Abby Kline to topple Moshannon Valley, 10-0, Thursday.

Alyssa Yeatts and Reaghan Grimes both scored once, while Mariah Hall added two goals as well for the Lady Black Panthers.

Emily Heck, Hall, Grimes, Kline, Rachel Bowman, and Lydia Ritchey also had assists.

“I was pleased with the way our team, especially our defense responded after yesterday’s game at Central,” said Northern Bedford coach Marcus Yeatts. “Lydia Ritchey, Lydia Koontz, Leah Swanseen, and Emilee Sherlock really played well as a group and limited Mo Valley to very few chances.

“Abby and Mariah really worked well up-front creating chances. Hopefully, the momentum carries us through to next Tuesday’s big game at West Branch.”

Northern, 1-1, visits West Branch on Tuesday.
