Appointment for mass COVID testing sites in Spokane on Friday only

SPOKANE, Wash. — You can get a COVID-19 test at Spokane’s mass community testing sites on Friday only if you have an appointment.

The Spokane Regional Health District said testing would only be done on people with appointments at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center site and Spokane Falls Community College. Discovery Health, which helps run the sites, said the reason for the limited capacity is a lack of staff.

The health department said it will let people know when drive-up testing would become available again.

“The capacity of the Spokane locations will be limited for a short time due to unforeseen staff shortages. We are looking for additional staff and are working with local health services to explore options such as additional volunteer staff. We will return the site to normal operations as soon as possible,” Discovery Health said in a statement.
