70% of Washington’s population start COVID-19 vaccination, Spokane County is lagging behind | Coronavirus

OLYMPIA, Washington – In Washington state, 70% of the population aged 16 and over is officially living on a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the Washington Minister of Health, Dr. Umair A. Shah has been given eight million doses of the vaccine to nearly 4.3 million people in Washington.

“We are seeing variations and breakthroughs, but so far there have been no significant breakthroughs,” wrote Dr. Umair A. Shah on Twitter. “Vaccinations work and are our best protection!”

While the entire state of Washington has hit 70%, Spokane County is lagging behind.

According to the Department of Health, only 55% of people in Spokane County have started vaccinating. That number is even lower in other parts of eastern Washington, as only 40% of the population in Whitman County are vaccinated.
