1A Track: Gavin Watson Lone Beavers’ District Winner

Tenino junior Gavin Watson was the only Beavers winner to take the boys’ long jump with a personal record jump of 19-11.75 at the 1st District 4 Track and Field Championships at Seton Catholic High School in Vancouver, Washington, on Friday held on.

Montesano won the boys’ meeting with 137 points, while the beavers took 10th place with 25 points.

Sophomore Blaine Schott took sixth place in the boys’ 400-meter run with a PR of 57.49, while sophomore Andres Zamudio threw the discus into fourth place for a PR of 109-01. Senior Nathan Chiella rounded off the standings by throwing the shot put 36 feet, even for a fifth place.

Junior Trevi Snodderly finished eighth in the 800 meter run in a time of 2: 29.89. Junior Braxton Williams finished eighth in the 3200 with a PR (11: 49.76).

The 4×400 relay of the beavers from Schott, Snodderly, Williams and Sam Hill took eighth place with a time of 4: 14.41.

Tenino girls had two girls in the top eight and scored points to finish tenth as a team with 12 points. Montesano girls won the team title with 135 points.

Tenino’s senior, Molly Craig, took third place in the girls’ discus with a litter of 88: 07, while the second Trinity Tafoya even took fourth place in the shot put with a PR throw of 30 feet.

Montesano also won the boys with 107 points. Tenino boys finished ninth with 11 points.

Gavin Watson was the Beavers’ sole winner and made the long jump with a PR of 19-11.75.
