1 shot, 1 arrested after gunfire on 164th south of Everett

Sheriff’s deputies were investigating what led to the shooting around 11:40 am near I-5.

EVERETT — A man was wounded in a shooting Monday south of Everett and west of Mill Creek, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspected shooter was arrested minutes later.

Gunfire was reported around 11:40 am in the 1500 block of 164th Street SW, near I-5, where deputies found the wounded man. An ambulance took him to a hospital. No update on his condition was available.

Meanwhile, the suspect fled into a vehicle, which was discovered parked near 128th Street SE and Third Avenue SE. A sheriff’s office handler and dog, K-9 Knox, searched for the man and tracked the suspect behind a house.

The suspect surrendered without incident.

Sheriff’s deputies believe the two men knew each other.

An investigation was ongoing into what led to the shooting.
